CS3 painfully slow on Powerbook G4
(too old to reply)

Hi,

I have a Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz with 1.25GB of RAM, running OSX 10.4.9. I have
18GB of HD space left.

CS2 is working fine on it but both Bridge and Photoshop CS3 are painfully
slow. It takes a full minute to open a file after making adjustments in the Raw
converter and tools like filters just seem to take forever to run.

Bridge has sped-up a bit since I moved from a central cache to a local one but
it's nothing like CS2's speed.

Is my machine just too old to run CS3 or is there anything I could do to speed
it up ? I thought CS3 was supposed to be faster than CS2.

Thanks for any info / tips !

What do you have the Memory Usage set to in Preferences > Performance? (Available? Let Photoshop Use?)
