CS3 Error when the image tries to open.

This has just developed in the last several days. When you open the CR2 image,
it starts reading the raw format and then Microsoft says CS3 has an error and
must close the app. XP64 OS which has been working fine until two or three days
ago.

Just the automatic MS updates. I tried the standard reset tricks. I have also
uninstalled and reinstalled CS3 with no luck. I have purged the caches. CS3
will export the files in batch mode but will fail the same way when opening the
exported files. CS2 and lightroom open the exported files properly.

More research: I opened CS3 Bridge and changed the assoc. to PSCS2 for the .cr2
files. Raw opens 3.7 and also opens PSCS2 correctly. -- MS has changed one of
the auto update DLLs lately so maybe that broke PSCS3.

More info: downloaded MS SP2 for XP 64. Prolem still exists.

Reformated system disk and reloaded XP64 and all updates including XP64-SP2. The CS3 installer tries to initilize and than quits with no error message.

Replaced hard drive with two new SATA II raid 0 hard drives. Formated NTFS and
reloaded XP64 SP2 with all current updates. Reloaded PSCS3. Got error "too many
activations" so I only have two days to retest, Reloaded all of my executable
programs. So far everything else with PSCS3 appears to be working normaly. Now
if support solves the "too many activations" problem I should be OK once again.
Tough way to have to resolve the PSCS3 glitch.

Further info: While CR2 files open normaly from Raw. CRW files from my 10D and 20D will not open from RAW.

I can't reproduce your issue here. I'm running Windows XP 64 and I just opened
and edited about 35 RAW CRW files from a 10D and a 20D through the Adobe
Photoshop Camera Raw plugin in the Photoshop Public Beta without a problem. I'm
going to run the standard MS updates and check it again to be sure.

Still opening CRWs fine in the public beta after updates. Does this happen with
all CRW files? or just certain files? If you'd like to send me a few problem
