GPU in CS 3

According to Martin Evening,

page 4, PSCS3 uses the GPU for some calculations. According to Adobe the
hardware requirements do not say anything about GPU. Can any engineer shed some
light on wether the GPU can speed up CS3 (extended)?

The GPU is used for Photoshop Extended's 3D graphics capability.

Is it true that even the brushes react better? And if so, why don`t Adobe`s hardware requirements say anything about GPUs?
