I've ordered the PS CS3, which should arrive shortly.
Do we uninstall the beta version first before installing the new software?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Not only do you HAVE to uninstall first, but you also have to run the
cleanup/uninstall script to remove all vestiges of the CS3 beta.

The script is available ONLY by emailing "cs3beta at adobe dot com" to
request it, or you can wait for the version with a GUI that will be posted
when CS3 finally ships.

Asking for the script on this forum won't do it.

I have no idea whether there is a cleanup/uninstall script for Windows or
not.

Photoshop CS3 will be released in two flavors, Standard and Extended.

The uninstall script available now upon request (at least for the Mac) has
been promised also in a version with a GUI when CS3 ships.

We are no longer distributing the uninstall script for Photoshop CS3 Beta
users. An updated version of the uninstall process will be available shortly
and posted to the Adobe Labs page as well as the knowledge base. If possible,
you should first try to run the uninstaller that came with the beta to remove
it from your system.

Adobe is now shipping Creative Suite 3! If you are a beta or pre-release user,
you must first uninstall all CS3 beta and pre-release programs on your machine
before installing the shipping versions.

On Windows XP, uninstall via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
On Windows Vista, in the Programs section of the Control Panel, select
Uninstall a Program.
On Macintosh, the uninstaller is in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
Note: you CANNOT uninstall by dragging CS3 Applications to the trash, you must
use the uninstaller.

After uninstalling, proceed with installing the shipping version of Creative
Suite 3.

If you experience problems with the uninstall or the install, you may need to
use the Adobe CS3Clean Script which will be available within a few days, or you
may contact Adobe Support.

wow, poor form adobe.

you can't make a paradigm shift in the way that mac apps are
installed/uninstalled and not do a much better job informing the user base.
burying this information on support forums and way down the page of the read me
just isn't acceptable. i now have 2.4 gigabytes of useless ones and zeros on my
machine, and you have $500 of my money.
