I used the Mac CS3Clean to remove the beta version of CS3. I downloaded and tried to run setup but it says the Adobe Installer Database is corrupt. Any suggestions here?

Thanks in advance.

The system you're on might be the source of the problem, but first do us a
favor and run a Search to find anything named CS3 and trash them. Once you
have, and you've physically removed anything related to the Public Beta that
might already be there, restart your machine and run the installer again. That
should work. Come back up here if it doesn't -- I'm sure there will be somebody
here to help you.

And thanks!

Purchased CS3 online and attempted installation. Message came up that
attempted installation was conflicting with CS3.
I unstalled the beta version prior to attempting installation, but obviously
something is left over from the beta. How do I get the purchased copy to
install? How do I get CS3Clean Script which is supposed to help?

WAIT for the new one to be posted.

There is now also a WARNING not to use the Clean script that had been
distrubuted earlier. :-/

Used uninstaller to remove beta and I'm still screwed. Please release the "clean" script ASAP.

Well, how long is it going to take to get the Script going?

We'll have a new script in the next couple of days, in the mean time, please read the top post in this forum for manual uninstall instructions.

Great, I'll explain that to my clients. Hard to believe that this has been in Beta and Public Beta.

I get the same error message after twice trying the manual uninstall (very
carefully), re-installing the beta in-between tries. Will the script do
something the manual uninstall instructions don't indicate?

The manual uninstall instructions worked for me on a Mac Pro and worked on a MacBook Pro after logging in as "root". Now both installs are complete.

I also have the downloaded CS3 (16-04-07) version for windows vista 32bit,
which was purchased online. I am also unable to install this release version.

While I have attempted to remove CS3 Beta, the program continues to register
as an installed programs. I have tried everything, manually deleting files and
registry entries, nothing has worked.

If it wasn't ready to ship, the program release should have been held off;
thus sparring us all this waste of valuable time in trying to install it and
then trying to find out why it won't install.

Very, very annoying!!! :(

I've tried the manual way 3 times...no luck. Any word on exactly what "next couple of days" means?

Manual uninstall of CS3 beta files does not work either.
I still get the pop-up that says "CS3 cannot be installed becaude it conflicts
with CS3." How silly can this be? And who knows what "a couple of days" means?
All I know is that paying for something that won't install is for the birds!

Did you remember to DEACTIVATE the software first? (If not, that's why you
get the error message you describe.)

After that, did you run the Adobe Uninstaller?

Only AFTER you complete both of the above should you run the Clean script.

(The Uninstaller is an application that already resides on your hard drive;
the Clean script is a separate thing.)

Mac users: search for any files named 'cache.db' and delete them.
The new script for the Mac is ready and posted here:

Mac OS X - http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html

Windows users: They're telling me the new script will be posted by then end of
the week.
