That would be burning copyrighted files which is illegal.
Photoshop CS3 is copyrighted by Adobe.

You can definately contact adobe about that question "movie buff".
You can certainly contact them reading this page --

even if he owns the software he's backing up? it clearly says:

Download Adobe Creative Suite

When you start downloading Adobe Creative Suite, the Adobe Download Manager
either starts automatically or you're prompted to install the Adobe Download
Manager. (To install, double-click the Adobe Download Manager Setup file or the
Adobe Mgr Setup.bin file that your web browser downloaded. The download will
start automatically.)

Adobe Download Manager downloads all files to a destination folder at Users/
/Documents, unless you select a different location. If you add a
new item to the download queue while the download is in progress, Adobe
Download Manager automatically downloads the new item to the current
destination.

Unless the download is interrupted, Adobe Download Manager requires your input
only after all files are downloaded. Then, Adobe Download Manager provides the
option to install now or later. Follow the instructions in the "Install Adobe
Creative Suite" section of this document for both options.

Important: Make backup copies of your downloaded files.

For the download times of Adobe Creative Suite files, see the table in the
"Find the downloaded files" section, in this document. For more details about
downloading files, visit the Adobe Store at http://store.adobe.com/store , and
click Download Information.

Backing up downloaded files, purchased online, onto CD/DVD for potential
reinstallation at a later date is encouraged by all software vendors.

Selling that backup on EBay, or to a friend, etc is where it becomes
illegal.

Thank you your replies. I was hoping it would be handled as Lightroom. When I bought Lightroom - a backup CD could be obtained from Adobe at the same time. Found it a more relaxing experience.
