Deactivate after beta has been uninstalled

My sequence of events: deleted CS3 beta; tried to install PS CS3; installer
system check showed conflict with PS CS3; read forum; ran uninstall; no change;
read Wiley's reference to manually uninstalling on Mac; manually deleted files;
no change.

The only thing that hasn't happened is that I haven't deactivated the beta.
How do I do that without the beta on the system?

Thanks, Hal

Alas, there's the rub! You should have deactivated before uninstalling.

Hopefully other will read this in time. Sorry it doesn't help you any.

Try this. Search for additional instances of cache.db on your hard drive. Delete any that you find. Reinstall.

Thanks. Found one instance. Deleted it. No change CS3 setup still gives:

I had this same problem. Check your add/remove programs again. If you find
any instance of CS3 in there, try repairing it. After it successfully
reinstalls (if it does), then open, deactivate and then run the uninstaller
from add/remove programs. I got cs3 to install after this but bridge is broken
in both cs2 & 3 now. I can open them separately but not from within either
version of PS. I'm bummed.

I'm on a Mac. Still dead in the water.

Thanks, Hal

Same here.
They say somewhere that we'll soon receive a clean uninstaller script.

Did you remember to DEACTIVATE the software first?

After that, did you run the Adobe Uninstaller?

Only AFTER you complete both of the above should you run the Clean script.

(The Uninstaller is an application that already resides on your hard drive;
the Clean script is a separate thing.)
